Roll up your sleeves and be a part of history! Join us for May Field Week at the Saginaw Valley Naval Ship Museum from May 6th to May 9th, where volunteers come together to help keep the USS EDSON in shipshape condition. This is a unique opportunity to lend a hand in preserving a historic naval destroyer while experiencing the camaraderie of working alongside fellow history enthusiasts, veterans, and community members. Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or new to the ship, there’s a task for everyone! How You Can Help: Painting & Restoration – Help freshen up the ship’s exterior and interior. Cleaning & Maintenance – Assist with deck scrubbing, organizing spaces, and general upkeep. Minor Repairs – Work on small restoration projects to keep the ship looking its best. Groundskeeping – Help maintain the museum’s outdoor spaces. Why Volunteer?
